09/07/2011 made History

if 1969 Racial Riot made it into history book,
this 2011 racial unity for BERSIH, too, shall be marked!

was in my comfort zone until twitter (@insider_latest) updates every few minutes have heated up my patriotism and decided to join the rally at noon with a few law mates. missed a few highlights in the morning yet the remaining ongoings was a real eye-opener.

merely requesting for the slightest reformation, greatest outcome possible?
8 demands to reform Malaysia's electoral processes:
  1. Clean up the electoral roll to address irregularities
  2. Reform postal voting
  3. Use indelible ink
  4. Establish a minimum campaign period of 21 days
  5. Ensure free and fair access for all political parties to the media
  6. Strengthen public institutions
  7. Get rid of corruption
  8. Put a stop to dirty politics

struggling with law books for 5 years by now, i've learnt the legal system unfailingly has loopholes in favour of government. this time round, the government (PDRM, in particular) went beyond the loophole and dug a muddy hole to hide in. despicable.

arresting people for exercising their Federal Constitution rights:
Art 9 [Freedom of Movement]
Art 10 [Freedom of Speech, Assembly, Association]
... subsequently hiding under the shield of Essential (Security Cases) Regulations 1975? FYI: ESCAR was enacted as the aftermath of racial RIOT back in 1969. this is a peaceful RALLY! next thing you know, an comprehensive regulation to limit your powers. can't wait!

besides, Art 150 [permits the Agong to proclaim state of emergency on PM's advice] that has yet to take place, how can ESCAR be invoked by PDRM?! and do note: the PM seems rather silent as to this and applauded those who didn't support this good cause. the harder you conceal, the more is yet to reveal! from what we all see with bare eyes, the government has just embarked on a sinking ship with its strong opposition against BERSIH. impliedly for Kotor, isn't it?!

frankly and ashamed for the past 21 years, i have been oblivious as to the country's politics as they're deemed irrelevant to me. turning 21 marks my interest in the reigning of this country. i just can't wait to vote now!

not the most feminine side but oh yeah, element of patriotism!

MARATHON: KL Sentral to PasarSeni to HospitalTungShin
to Pudu to BukitBintang to Pavilion to KLCC.

of an arrested BERSIH supporter splashed by chemical flood.

if it wasn't for CLP exam in 2weeks...
i don't mind experiencing tear gas in my eyes,
chemical water on my skin, and handcuffs even.
felt some tear gas residues stinging up my nostril though!

Mr.Ari, the CLP classmate (previously Taylor's lecturer) who got souvenir,
tear-gas cartridge!

Datuk Ambiga, the President of Bar Council and BERSIH instigator
is totally down to earth despite her position, from what i recalled meeting her
3 years back in LawAsia International Moot.

the heroes and heroins.

the stronger UNITY promoted by Ambiga's 2.0Bersih than Najib's 1Malaysia.
as said: Action speaks louder than words.

the letter may not reach the King personally, but there's no way to pretend nor deny BERSIH when it has hit international?

for the first time, i can say i'm proud to be Malaysian!
